이수동은 자작나무, 꽃, 눈 등과 같은 자연적 소재를 바탕으로

연인, 가족, 친구 등의 인물들을 화폭에 담아 보는 이에게 따뜻한 위로와 서정적 감성을 전하는 화가이다. 

그는 '행복을그리는화가'라는 수식어로 널리 알려져 있으며, KBS 드라마 「가을동화」에서

주인공이 그리는 그림으로 등장해 대중적 인지도를 크게 높였다.

그는 “그림의 주인은 결국 바라보는 사람”이라는 생각을 바탕으로, 사람들의 마음을 편안하고 기분 좋게 만드는 작품을 그리고자 한다. 이러한 태도는 작품 전반에 흐르는 사랑과 행복의 정서로 이어지며, 친근하고 공감 가능한 이미지로 많은 이들에게 다가가고 있다.

작가는 2000년대 초반이후부터 개인전과 아트페어를 중심으로 꾸준히 작품을 발표해왔으며, 다수의 전시에서

높은시장 반응을 이끌어냈다. 또한 기업광고, 캘린더, 단행본 및 사보표지 등 다양한 시각매체로 확장되었고, 

최근에는 일본미술시장에서의 개인전 개최 등 해외 전시를 통해 활동 영역을 넓히고 있다.

Lee Soo-dong is a painter who conveys warm comfort and lyrical sensitivity through scenes of lovers, families, and friends set against natural motifs such as birch trees, flowers, and snow. Widely known as “the painter of happiness,” he gained broad public recognition when his works appeared as the paintings created by the protagonist in the KBS drama Autumn in My Heart.

Based on his belief that “the true owner of a painting is ultimately the person who looks at it,” Lee seeks to create works that bring peace, warmth, and joy to viewers. This attitude naturally extends into the atmosphere of love and happiness that flows throughout his paintings, allowing his approachable and empathetic imagery to resonate with a wide audience.

Since the early 2000s, the artist has continuously presented his works through solo exhibitions and art fairs, receiving strong responses from the market and collectors alike.
